Hi. My name is Rob, as most of my friends call me. I have been teaching English for five years now, on and off. I started teaching Koreans when I was still studying in U.P. After graduation, I became a freelance researcher and writer. I wrote mostly for television commercials and company brochures or newsletters. From time to time, I taught English to foreigners particularly Koreans, Cambodians, Chinese and Thais. However, I discovered that I enjoy teaching much more than freelance writing and so in 2001, I decided to teach full time.
I worked as a private tutor from 2001 to 2003. In September of 2003, I joined the teaching staff of Nine One One Language Inc. in Quezon City (near Manila). I find working in a school much more rewarding, both professionally and emotionally. In my current work, I get to help more students than I would normally do if I were still tutoring privately.
In addition, I am also a volunteer of several N.G.Os (non-governmental organizations) that focus on educating young adults about HIV-AIDS and human rights.
